Leadership Recognition

Leadership Recognition is a program designed to reward members who excel in their profession. The program offers three tiers: Certification, Accreditation and Fellowship status. Fellows are best defined as professionals in healthcare marketing and public relations who demonstrate exceptional competence and ability in the areas of Leadership, Problem solving, Innovation and creativity, and Organizational impact.

Carol Scaife Memorial Scholarship

The Carol Scaife Memorial Scholarship award gives one student or recent graduate the opportunity to spend three days learning and networking with healthcare marketing and public relations professionals from across Wisconsin at the WHPRMS annual conference.

Communications Review

The Wisconsin Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society developed the Communications Review program in 1971 to recognize excellence and superior accomplishment in the practice of health care public relations and marketing. Communications Review was one of the first award programs of its kind in the country and today is widely recognized by health care communicators for its quality and credibility.

Mentor Program

The WHPRMS mentoring program is available to all current members of the organization. The program matches volunteer mentors from the society with mentees for a suggested three-month commitment. Mentoring is available to members at any stage in their career who are seeking to develop new skills or make progress toward professional goals. The program is intended for career development, and strictly prohibits participants from marketing or soliciting for business reasons. Mentoring pairs meet or connect approximately two to four times per month or as the parties agree to establish the mentee’s goals and a process for achieving them. Volunteer mentors will be listed on the website, and interested mentees can seek pairings all year long.

Professional Excellence Award

Presented one WHPRMS member annually, via nominations from the WHPRMS membership. This individual has demonstrated ability to advance the sound principles of communications, marketing and public relations within the healthcare industry, and is a distinguished leader in their organization and community.
